MANTECA — After finishing 2nd in VOL, the Manteca buffaloes gear up for post-season, hungry to prove themselves and keep the team spirit and momentum from their season alive.

After a 20-win season, and a run to the playoffs, senior captain Devon Richardson reflects a year of hard work, growth, and teamwork.

“I think just playing together,” said Richardson. “Every time we play together, we play our best. So, when we play as a team, we're unstoppable.”

The Manteca Buffaloes, fueled by solid pitching, clutch hits, and strong defense, have surged to second place in the VOL and are looking like serious contenders for the league title and a deep playoff run.

Richardson is known as the best all-around hitter in the VOL. He’s the player who can do it all. His consistency and leadership at the plate have been a huge asset to his team, helping lead them through a strong season.

“I'm just trying to stay at my best,” Richardson said. “Trying to be that model for my team, and lead by example.”

While being in the debate for this seasons MVP and team captain, Junior Varsity athlete Jimmy Burns reflects on Richardsons leadership, and performance this season.

“It feels pretty good,” said Burns. “Last year we had the same chance for it right going into the playoffs. I feel like this year was a better team overall. I feel like we can make a deeper run.
