With the amount of time students at Manteca High School spend on campus, it is important that the school is a comfortable and safe environment.

Manteca High’s construction plan clearly establishes that these traits are being built into their learning center. They will carry this out by expanding their campus and accommodating the large number of students, as well as the necessities needed for their success in a school environment
Manteca High’s newest building, located along Sherman Avenue on the west side of campus, should be built by next year and is supposed to offer a better learning environment for students and a bigger campus.
The new building will include the classes currently housed in the portables, such as Government and Economics, history, psychology, and more. A similar building at East Union features a two-story library and classrooms.
“Construction is underway and on track for completion in July of 2027,” said Aaron Bowers, director with facilities and operations. “To bring the idea that students can learn here to life, the design team worked closely with students and staff to shape a campus where learning may happen everywhere, not just in the four walls of a classroom. The approach focuses on creating flexible indoor and outdoor spaces that invite collaboration throughout campus.”

The construction team is also working on improving already existing departments at our school and making the campus better for both staff and students.
“The next phase is all about bringing more creative and supportive spaces to campus, including new art classrooms and renovated administration and counseling areas. While this exciting phase isn’t funded just yet, it’s on the horizon as the next step in continuing to improve the campus,” Bowers said.
The new campus will not only be bigger but will include several beneficial additions. Although the old campus and its history will be missed, the school is continuously evolving much like our city as we expand with new homes and businesses.
