MANTECA- Manteca high is making history for the 2026-2027 school year, as the incoming freshman class has officially been recognized as the largest class in the school’s 126-year history. With excitement and fear in the air, the school’s administration is excited to see the changes this giant new class will bring on campus.

Next year Manteca High School is said to have the biggest class size compared to the entirety of the Manteca High School history. The growth of the student body reflects not only Manteca’s expansion, but also an amazing shift in the educational landscape. It is a monumental occasion for Manteca High School’s history as it makes new opportunities for both students and administrators.

With more than a century of tradition behind Manteca Highschool, Manteca has seen many generations in its halls, but with the new 2026-2027 class our hallways will be fuller than ever and filled with more excitement and enthusiasm for our futures.

“This speaks to our strengths and culture of existing programs. A big example of this is the school’s academics and sports,” said Vice Principal Jonathan Langone. “This new year’s class will have lots of diversity, socially and academically I believe. There will be high participation, which will hopefully be in our A-G courses.”

With the increasing number of students, overcrowding, conflicts, and managing new social dynamics, Manteca High’s students may face difficulties. But, according to Jonathan Langone, Manteca High’s rules will stay the same, but will be held to a stricter account to follow the bigger class sizing.

One of the biggest factors why there is such a surge of enrollment in Manteca High is due to the great population growth in Manteca and surrounding neighborhoods. New housing developments have brought families into the area, mostly of which have students attending Manteca High.

Athletics and extracurricular programs are also expecting a boost, “I think it’ll be a postive thing, not only is soccer losing senior players but also our other sports. I think it's a good thing as we always want more players, and giving Freshman a positive first introduction to Manteca,” said Kailee Jackson, a Manteca High student on the Soccer team.

As the class of 2030 begins its journey throughout High school, expectations are high. Being the largest class in Manteca High’s rich history, this distinction will create not only new beginnings for the students, but for Manteca High likewise.

When The Tower was speaking to Jonathan Langone he claimed that the one thing that the upcoming class should remember is his 5 pillars of success, “Number one, showing up. You cannot succeed without showing up properly to school. Two is getting involved. Getting involved in the campus activities will create a positive high school experience. Three is to find your people. You should definitely make friends and get around the campus. Four, Advocate for yourself, speak up, your name is your brand. What you say and what you do during your time on campus will follow you throughout your entire life”.

As Manteca grows, so do our educational opportunities. The newest Freshman class will make a positive impact to our school and be a revolution for Manteca High’s history.
